Ursa built a model. The world was made wholly of wood. Black wood was land. White wood was water. A stick made a happy island, so Ursa glued little plastic animals on it, colorful with reds and yellows. She tapped her nails on the stick, tack tack tack.
   
“How do I get there?” she asked.
   
She carved some trenches in the black walnut land. The white oak water flowed through. She put the model on the floor and stood on it, and a corner broke off. She put the model in a cardboard shoe box.
