Ursa Drove on the River
The water came up to just below the door. He headed west, down the river. A fishing boat blocked the way. Two guys fished for strange colorful crabs. Hermit crabs. Ursa watched a crab rising on the line. The crab wore a beer can shell. Before he broke surface, he fell off the line. Ursa opened the car door and drove fast, intending to catch the crab. But the crab fell. Ursa put the car in park and dove into the water. Down, down. He found Styrofoam cups and plastic bags, but no crabs. When he broke surface, Ursa couldn’t get back into his car. A really big hermit crab sat behind the wheel, reaching out with his claw to shut the car door. Ursa Drove on the River
