Ursa Spoke
_____Ursa spoke with the salmon. He carried the big fish in his arms. His chest ached from the salmon’s weight. “I’m glad you’re alive,” Ursa said. “Are you hurt?” “Shh. I’m fine. I see something underwater,” the salmon said. “It is a breath, an awakening. It is an octopus, reaching for you.” “Do you think I should watch out?” Ursa asked. “Yes. Do you feel the weakness in your legs? That is Octopus Tentacles. The bowel ache? Octopus. Something wants you deep. Go ahead and speak, but be careful.” “Salmon, how will I know it’s you? I feel we are already friends.” “I have known you a long time,” Salmon said. “Octopus sleep.” “Sleep, Octopus,” Ursa said. “I am constrained,” Salmon said. “Help me swim.” “How can I help?” “Give voice to me,” she said. “But how will I know it’s you?” Ursa asked. “I am in you,” she said. “My legs feel sick!” Ursa said, sagging to the water. “Octopus again,” Salmon said. “Listen carefully. I Salmon am in you. Listen.” “Okay,” Ursa said. He put the fish in the water and stood. Ursa Spoke
