Ursa Met a Shrouded Woman

female symbol
Ursa met a shrouded woman. She sat in the shadows of a castle. There were pillars. There were cornices and moldings. There was cherry wood, oak, and black walnut.

The woman sat in a fancy carved chair with red velvet cushions. She looked into a microscope. A long twisted tube went from the eyepiece to a painting.

She hunched over, peering. The painting hung on the wall. A spot of morning light snuck in through a gap in some red velvet curtains. Dust began dancing. Ursa moved closer and saw bright animals, all colors all kinds, all over fields. In forests. In water. A lot of animals playing.

The woman focused the microscope on a fleck of yellow paint. Ursa wondered, “Why doesn’t she just look, and see?” She bent to observe a whale. Her head blocked the light. She blushed and stepped back.
